Just before a treatment there is a review of how your health has been since the previous session.
During treatment you are fully clothed and a gentle contact is made with Tanya's hands at your head or feet. It fairly common not to feel much more than deep relaxation on your first session although people can experience mild tingling, electrical wave like sensation, a build up of heat or of cold and a sense that the body is rebalancing.

Some dialogue is kept open on what you are experiencing during treatment and to make sure you are kept comfortable. If you prefer not to talk that is also welcome as the work can be more rewarding.
In biodynamic craniosacral therapy the body sets the pace and priority of treatment.
What brought you in for treatment may not be what improves first. A course of 6 or 7 sessions is recommended to get a thorough overview. However for acute conditions the body may respond within one or two sessions and for very chronic conditions it may be wiser to consider craniosacral therapy as a long term support.
Babies
Because craniosacral therapy is so gentle it can be very effective for babies. A baby's treatment takes place with mum either feeding or holding baby. Dads and primary carers are welcome too if the mother wishes.
Many women bring their healthy babies for treatment as a preventative measure and babies who were premature, have experienced c-section and / or other interventions tend to need more regular treatment.
Postnatal
For postnatal recovery, sessions are focused on mum with or without baby present. Some mums report to benefit greatly when they come on their own 6 weeks or so after labour.
