The first consultation involves taking a history of your health, what your presenting condition is and includes your medical and dental history. Although it is not important to know your birth history it is a question asked as it is sometimes helpful. If you have any x-rays please bring them along.
The consultation is a good way for you and the practitioner to take stock and begin to help clarify the choices you have towards managing your wellbeing alongside craniosacral therapy.
You usually have time for a short introductory treatment on the first consultation although this should not really be considered as a full craniosacral therapy session. Obviously if you are in acute pain at the time of consultation more time will be given to treatment than the consultation. Generally it is worthwhile considering to book in a treatment a few days after the consultation or the same time the following week.
Sometimes the consultation form can be sent to your home address to help save time filling it in during the appointment which is advisable if you have memory challenges, complicated medication, have a lengthy history of health issues or would just like to have some personal time to review your health.
